Treasurers Report Michelle brought with her the years bank statements for people to view as required. Last year approximately 90% of fees were paid by residents. Fee letters have been sent out to residents with requests for arrears where appropriate. The bank account balance was approximately 4,000 this time last year. Approximately 2,800 was collected in fees from residents for which The Committee wished to express its thanks. The Summer Fair raised a further 400. The majority of expenditure in the last year was on necessary tree surgery (1,800), some emergency tree surgery (500) and the liability insurance policy (approximately 800). Other expenditure included cast iron benches (500) and the Salvation Army and childrens gifts at Christmas (60). Current bank balance stands at approximately 300. Expenditure in the near future will include a further three benches and trees to replace those which were removed over winter. Nigel enquired as to guide prices for replacement trees. John S has investigated prices and estimated 60 each for relatively mature specimens, although there are queries over the cost of transportation and a tree surgeon to help get the trees established. A brief cost discussion highlighted the factors of size/maturity of tree vs. cost; a more mature tree would, obviously, be more expensive. Rarer species of tree would also incur greater cost. New trees would also require care once planted. John recommended interested parties look at: HYPERLINK "http://www.treesplease.co.uk/" http://www.treesplease.co.uk/ for more information. A suggestion was made that all residents should be given the opportunity to be involved in the decisions that need to be made with regards new trees. If you have any thoughts or suggestions as to the replacement of trees that had to be removed in winter then please complete the attached return form and give it to a member of The Committee, thank-you. 3. Election of Committee Chair, Treasurer & Secretary Current Chairman (Graeme) resigned from post. Current Secretary (Karen G) resigned from post. Current Treasurer (Michelle) standing again. Nigel stands as Chairman. Nominated by Judith S, seconded by Graeme. Karen H and Judith S stand as Secretary in a shared role. Nominated by Michelle, seconded by John S. 4. Residents Concerns/Issues The issued of fence reparation, specifically fence posts and palings (John S). Some palings need to be replaced. Nigel has approximately 20 palings and it was agreed that more should be ordered Action Nigel. The fence needs painting soon (Michelle). It was suggested that a weekend be organised to paint the fence, or The Committee could explore the possibility of paying a third party to paint the fence Action Committee. Alan said that he would look into trade price fence paint Action Alan. It was agreed that an inventory of park materials/tools be taken (Ian D). Paul Ss garage is currently housing some material. Judith S may have some tools in storage. Karen H agreed to follow up with Paul S and Judith S Action Karen H. Do you have any tools or materials that belong to the park? If so, please detail these on the attached form and return to Karen H (10 Myrtle Grove), thank-you. The piles of wood chips and bark shavings were mentioned along with the large logs that remain from the work performed by the tree surgeons (Keith J). Logs are free to be used by residents for firewood. It was agreed that any remaining logs will be cut up or cleaned up at the next clean-up day. 5.
